Medicaid for Florida.

Floridia Medicaid Qualification

 What is Medicaid ?

Medicaid for Florida is a Federally/State funded program for lower income Individuals or Families.  Each state will direct the program and have it’s own guidlines for benefits.  Medicaid is for the health care of an indivividual.  It does not provide for food stamps etc.  For complete benefits, refer to the page Florida Medicaid.

Who can apply ?

If your income and assets are within the limits set by the state, you should be able to qualify.  Either go online or apply at one of your local offices.

What are the benefits ?

The benefits under Medicaid are for your health and well being.  Services ranging from the minor Doctor Visits to Nursing Home care, including drug benefits.

Persons over 65 benefits ?

Persons who are over the age of 65 are automatically enrolled into Medicare.  If you are wanting Medicaid, you must apply for it.  Although they are both under the CMS ( Center for Medicare/Medicaid Services ), they are separate programs.

Medicare or Medicaid ?

They are totally separate programs. The benefits provided under both are for your health.  The benefits under Medicaid are greater than those with Medicare only.  Both have some restrictions and limitations.  Benefits will vary under both plans.  Some of the extended benefits of Medicaid are available for those who would not otherwise be able to afford them.

NOTE —
PERSONS WHO HAVE BOTH MEDICAID AND MEDICARE HAVE A SPECIAL ADVANTAGE PLAN AVAILABLE TO THEM.
PROVIDING EXTENDED CARE BEYOND WHAT MEDICAID AND MEDICARE ALONE PROVIDE.
